Five Best Moving Tips

Of all of the moving tips that are available online, here are five best moving tips. You might have a few that you’d like to see on this list as well. But we think that these will be helpful to you, and we just wanted to share sort of a “top-five” list for you to use.
1. Label your items.
It is extremely difficult during a move to keep things in order without labeling the boxes. Containers that need should end up in the living room end up in the bedroom and cartons that needed to be delivered in the basement turn up in the kitchen.
Unlabeled boxes and containers can make the move prove to be a nightmare. Save yourself the headaches and all of the extra work by labeling the boxes and leave the heavy lifting to us.
2.Use the right packaging materials to avoid damages.
One of the things to consider when moving is the capacity limits of the packaging material. To prevent catastrophic failure of the packaging material you might want to consider the following rules of thumb. Always put heavier items like books, and heavy items in smaller b boxes so as to limit the overall weight of the box. Put lighter stuff into the larger boxes.
By doing this, you will do a better job avoiding broken cartons arriving at your doorstep during your move and the possible damages that can come with it.
3. Provide us with a simple floor plan.
A floor plan can go a long way in helping to keep your moving job going as efficiently as possible. A floor plan is particularly useful for large houses and commercial moving jobs.
Our goal is to provide you with the best service that we can. We don’t want to deliver your items as if they have been scattered about by the wind leaving you with the hassle of picking up the pieces and moving all of the items into their proper places. We want to leave the inventory as close to a final destination as possible so that unpacking and setting up your new domain or office can be simple for you to complete.
So label those boxes and give us a simple floor plan, you will glad that you did.
4. Plan ahead
The following items can each be a tip by itself, but we cheated a bit and put them all together:
Change your address, and move your utilities, at least, two weeks in advance. The United Postal Service give you forwarding and change of address notification service, and most services offer you free overlap.
Pack a transparent container. Moving day can be exhausting, bear in mind that you might not have the wherewithal to complete all of your unpacking on the day of the move. After all your only human. Plan ahead and pack a clear container with a lid for all of the “essentials” you will need the same day. These essentials might include soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, towels and change of clothing, etc. that you might need right away.
Take care of pets in advance. Keep your pets close to you and put them into safety carriers with food and water for the trip. Keep them hydrated and comfortable on the move.
5. Clean in advance of moving day
Make sure that your new location is clean and ready to move in before the big day. We have seen many clients run into cost overruns by not checking to make sure that the new apartment or house is empty, clean and ready for move-in.
You might want to clean the bathrooms and prepare them for your arrival if possible. Also, make sure there are no furnishings at the new location that we will need to move and discard for you. Adding extra items to the moving job will increase the overall cost of your job.
Make sure that if you are moving your refrigerator, defrost it before the day of the move. You will need to make sure that there are no liquids in the fridge either as this can cause quite the mess.
